The Rape Relationships

Published by Balraj Arpit on

1.3 billion Population (of India) and counting, the youngest country in the World has lost its all definition about relationships between male and female. Something very weird is happening in the country and 1.3 billion people are mourn, sometime for rape, sometime murder, sometime for violence and sometime of religion.

India is youngest and very soon will be most populous country in the World because there’re only 0.05 billion population difference between India (1.32 billion) and China (1.37 billion) as per 2016 World Bank data.

Now, please let me exaggerate.

A 3-year-old child is sent to school, asked by parents to study and make good friends. At Kinder Garten (KG), there are some children in school who are bad so their friendship is. That KG student was allegedly sexually assaulted by one of the school founder. Other 3-year-old was home alone allegedly raped and dumped in box by a teen neighbor.

A 7-year-old girl kidnapped from wedding, raped and murdered in Etah. The accused took the girl away to an under-construction house, raped her and later killed her, police said. This is the latest incident of sexual assault on a minor amid outrage over the gangrape and murder of an 8-year-old in Jammu’s Kathua. And, thousands of people in India have taken to the streets demanding justice for eight-year-old. The girl, from a nomadic community that roams the forests of Kashmir, was drugged, held captive in a temple and sexually assaulted for a week before being strangled and battered to death with a stone in January, police said. This case has inflames religious tensions.

Another 8-year-old raped, murdered during wedding function. The girl was lured into an abandoned house by the accused, who was reportedly found lying drunk next to the victim’s body.

A 9-year-old was allegedly raped thrice in 15 days by 24-year-old man. The accused, lure the girl to his home on the pretext of making her watch cartoons on TV when her parents were not at home and raped her.

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father. The alcoholic father allegedly raped the daughter when the mother left her at home with him on Saturday. A woman professor allegedly asking female student to sexually please top university officials. She was held after alleged audio clips of her trying to convince girls to “to do certain things secretly for a top official” went viral on social media.

22-yeal-old gangrape in moving car by two men after being offered a lift by one of the accused, who was friend.

Above rape cases are of 2018 and mostly in April. The school founder, the neighbor, wedding attendees, the ministers, the father, the cousin, the male friends, and others were meant to be trusted persons before the case. They were no criminals; their relationship with the victims were defined by society, like founder, student, neighbor, minister, father, daughter, cousin, sister, female friend and others. Now, these are categories into THE RAPE RELATIONSHIPS, the rapist and the victim.

  • Now, would you like to send your 3-year-old daughter to school with her teacher?
  • Would you like send your 7-year-old girl to a wedding with neighbor?
  • Would you like to leave your 9-year-old at home alone by trusting neighbor will protect her if case of emergency?
  • Would you like to leave your 10-year-old daughter with your husband?
  • Would you like to leave your disable 14-year-old daughter with her cousin?
  • Would you like to ask your 15-year-old daughter to return from tuition alone?
  • Would you like to send your daughter to college for higher education?
  • Would you like your daughter to accept lift from her friend?

There are 29 states in India and 7 union territories, India witnessed 39 rapes per hour in 2016 according to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data. Of the 3.38 lakh cases of crimes against women registered in the year, 38000 were cases of rape and over 2000 were gangrape cases.

Women in India are scared, they are scared of relationships. They cannot trust a man to make him her friend and share her story. She doesn’t find happiness and freedom with a male. She doubt every stranger she met. But still she expects a friend like husband, and if she won’t find a friend like husband, domestic violence will ruin rest of her life.

At the other sides, parents are scared to send their daughters out of the home. They are scared about whether her daughter will come back safely to home after school, college, work, shopping, parties and all.

Why these relationships have turned into the rape relations? Why the streets and the roads are not safe for woman to walk back to the home? Why rape accused are not prosecuted as equivalent to murder accused?

Wikipedia says, “India is widely recognized for its wide cinema, rich cuisine and lush wildlife and vegetation. It is a pluralistic, multilingual and multi-ethnic society and is also home to a diversity of wildlife in a variety of protected habitats.  Indian cultural history spans more than 4,500 years. During the Vedic period (c. 1700 – 500 BCE), the foundations of Hindu philosophy, mythology, theology and literature were laid, and many beliefs and practices which still exist today, such as dhárma, kárma, yóga, and mokṣa, were established. India is notable for its religious diversity, with Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, and Jainism among the nation’s major religions. The predominant religion, Hinduism, has been shaped by various historical schools of thought, including those of the Upanishads, the Yoga Sutras, the Bhakti movement, and by Buddhist philosophy.”

India have the richest culture in the World but it ranked 133/156 on World Happiness Index, behind Pakistan. The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s (SDSN) 2018 World Happiness Report ranked 156 countries according to things such as GDP, per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, social freedom, generosity and absence of corruption.

There are two India, rural India and urban India. Rural India has already put several restrictions on their daughters and a girl and a boy cannot be a friend, and now urban India is on its way to put such restrictions to their daughters. What kind of society we’re building for the future of our country? How will you define, “relationships”?

Why the Government is not taking tough decisions? How long we will protest on road for the safety of the women? How long India will march with candlelight? How long India will witness 39 rapes each hour? How long youngest country in the World will categories these relationships into the rape relationships? How long you will remain silent for this?

This is NOT the Present and the Future We Want!
